This time of year the desert temperatures are rising; it can feel like you're standing on the surface of the sun. This trip will avoid the extreme heat, and instead take us to the Pacific Coast of Baja, where the cool breeze of the ocean keeps the temperatures comfortable. If you've ever driven down Highway 1 through San Quintin chances are you didn't stop. It's a bustling but unimpressive section of Northern Baja. Unbeknownst to the untrained eye, just a few miles off the paved road in either direction, the landscape transforms. We took our time, searching the area on multiple excursions, before finding the perfect beach spot for our Base Camp. This gorgeous coastline is only a few hours from the highest mountain peak in Baja California, which sits at over 10,000 ft.

This tour departs from San Diego, California, heads into Baja, and ends back up in San Diego. We will accompany you and your vehicle throughout the entire trip, including border crossings.
